This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Turf & Groundskeeper. Free on-site housing is available with a signed housing agreement. Gulf Stream Golf Club is offering a unique internship opportunity this summer.
The goal is to provide potential candidates with a variety of experiences through on-the-job training. This offering is intended for students or recent graduates from a turf related program.
The experience will allow the intern to work during the heart of the summer cultural practices in South Florida at one of the most prestigious clubs in the area. Experience will be gained on cultural practices for celebration bermuda, tifeagle greens and st. augustine roughs. Additionally, there will be opportunities to gain experience with the construction of the Better Billy Bunker system and the construction of a reverse osmosis plant and water treatment facility. There will be ample opportunities to gain knowledge from the HDPE and PVC irrigation systems along with Toro Lynx central irrigation control. Gulf Stream Golf Club has some of the latest turf equipment that the intern will have the opportunity to learn and operate.
The selected candidates will be compensated with an hourly wage that will include housing, uniforms, paid lunch, and playing privileges.

The Assistant Golf Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of our Golf Maintenance Operations including expected to operate all turf maintenance equipment, apply pesticides and fertilizers and make repairs to the irrigation system as needed. In addition, they may be asked to perform maintenance on said equipment, manage the crew and oversee small projects throughout the season.
The successful candidate will be entrusted to run the turf maintenance operations when the Head Superintendent is off site.
